Giddy.
I need a thesaurus to cover all of the emotions I feel after last night's read-through for Listen To Your Mother. The energy is so vibrant in the group of writers for this year's show! I finally understood the mission that Ann Imig had stated in her initial call for producers. She stressed that the show wasn't about us, but about bringing the voices of local writers to the stage. LTYM isn't about me or Melisa, it's about the stories that are being shared and the connections that are being forged.
I have never been on the background side of endeavors like this one. It's incredible. And actually, in some ways, it's even more rewarding than being on stage myself. It feels a bit like motherhood; wanting everyone else to do their best so that they have the most rewarding experience possible. Ironic, eh?
I cannot thank our cast enough: Brandie, Lou, Stacey, Stephanie, Vanessa, Jen, Alisha, Nancy, Melissa Haak, Hyacynth, Karen, Audrey, Katy, Judy, and Megan. Without them, it'd be me and Melisa with a 14 minute show. ;) I am also so awed by my partner in all of this, Melisa. ;) We work well together and I have grand plans of
2 WEEKS TILL THE SHOW!!
