Damn, I'm in a pissy mood.
It's pretty obvious when I haven't posted in almost a week.
~ I hosted a jewelry party which I cleaned the ENTIRE house for. Holy shit. Naturally, it's a disaster again. I'm sure that can't have anything to do with the bitch I am today.
~ A family party for cousins I haven't seen in a few years (that rocked, though. Good food and good family.) was good. My kids loved rediscovering cousins that are the same age as them and Justin wants to write a reminder on the calendar for us to call them to hang out again. So. That's a good thing.
~ I'm trying to not be HOT in freaking OCTOBER. In ILLINOIS. I hate hate hate these last bursts of heat in the fall. HATE THEM. I am in a damn tank top and shorts on 10-10-10. What the hell?!? I don't want to shave my legs anymore. It's time to layer up and hunker down for the winter. I am ready to hibernate, not sweat.
~ My mood went completely down the poop chute this afternoon when Patrick waved goodbye to go watch the Bears game SOMEWHERE ELSE. That was a huge surprise and a royal disappointment.
~ I have banished Evan and Corinne to their rooms for about 30 minutes now which is why I have managed to plunk out these horrifically boring and trite sentences this afternoon. I had a sweet idea for posting a bunch of "tens" of things today in honor of the date stamp but screw it.
I need some coffee but it's 81 in my house. EIGHTY-ONE. In October.

Hope it helps at least a little to know that someone else completely understands.
I don't care if we end up buying our pumpkins from the grocery store, I AM NOT going to a pumpkin patch when it's 85 degrees out. Forget it.
My hubby's going out this evening, nothing I can complain about, it's a Cub Scout thing, but he's been sick for a week, he's starting to finally feel better, and it bothers me that I'm not going to get to be the one to spend time with him.
Hope things look up soon.
Sorry you're a raging pain in the butt. I just came inside from sweating in the garden. I completely agree with you and realize this is a symptom of becoming an old bag. Enjoy your coffee but I'm crackin a beer.
Rawr, Julie!! :) Me thinks it MAY have a tiny something to do with the time of the month. Especially since it's now 11:30 pm and I am TOTALLY raiding the pantry for random meat. I need meat. Always a sign of the impending Big P...
Yes dear, by all means have some good ol' coffee. :)
Holy hotness! It was warm here yesterday, too - in upstate New York! I think this was the first year we've gone to the pumpkin patch and not been shivering. Kinda like the year we went to the Christmas tree farm and there was no snow on the ground. Kills the mood.
Hope today is better for you!
I hope today is a better day for you.
I agree!!! I hate this warm weather! It's time for jeans and sweaters and spiced hot apple cider dammit!!! The weather has tricked us! It is not ok to be chilly and fall like and then rocket us back to summer! NOT OK!
Saturday was record temps around here for October. We had already told the kids we were going to the pumpkin patch before I had checked the weather. It was HOT!!!! One of the employees actually came up to me and asked if I was okay, and gave me an ice cold bottled water because she thought I might faint. Where are the nice 72 degree days???
So we took the kids to their first college football game this weekend. I was picturing tailgating in a crisp autumn environment. Instead, I was SO HOT that looking at the tailgate food made me sick. I chugged bottles of water and worried that the baby was going to overheat. Once we started walking around campus (as opposed to hanging in the parking lot), things improved. I know that it could have been freezing or pouring down rain and I shouldn't complain, but I just wanted fall weather, just fall, no more summer. Doesn't seem like too much to ask!
