Works for Me Wednesday:
My first WFMW! I finally have something to share that works for me! :)
Every mom knows the frustrations of having to get the kids out of the house in the morning:
Shoes on? Hair brushed? Homework? Lunch packed? Etc. etc. One of our biggest problems in the morning is getting those teeth brushed! Mainly because my kids take so long to decide what they want to eat and then actually EAT it, and then getting dressed just takes forever. So that by the time it's time to go, I'm barking orders and then realizing that someone forgot to brush their teeth, which are usually coated in some cinnamon toast or waffles. Ugh... The thought of having to climb back upstairs to get them brushed could add another 15 minutes to the exit procedures... the distractions that climbing a staircase can provide are ENDless...
So, we have duplicate toothbrushes and toothpaste in our kitchen. My husband thinks I'm a bit nuts, but he doesn't have to get them out the door in the morning! They brush their teeth at the kitchen sink and spit around the dishes as I run a comb through their snarly hair and then drag them to school. It truly saves us from an argument every day!

That is a SMART idea!
Your dentist would be pleased. My kids are old enough for me to think about working. I'm going to tape record all the things I say to them every day and then just let the recording play all day to remind them of all the things that they need to be doing. I love home schooling them though. The first thing I taught them was that "yes, we love our teacher" and to sleep past 8am. LOL! Hugs!
You are brilliant! Truly genius!
Fab idea! I'm a big John and Kate + 8 fan too, and I think I remember Kate saying she does the same thing.
I've always kept a toothbrush and paste for myself in the downstairs bathroom. Never thought about adding them for my kids. Duh. Thanks for the great tip!
Brilliant idea! My hubby wouldn't get it either...but then again he doesn't get them off to school either :)
I think that's a brillian idea! I am usually brushing my daughter's hair while she is eating breakfast!
Whatever works, right?

Very smart! I am the mean Mommy who won't give my kids breakfast until they're dressed--it makes them move faster in the morning! Still, then we have to brush teeth and comb hair.
Have a great day.
You're one smart woman!
I was just scrolling through you blog and man! Justin is becoming quite the little hottie! (not to sound creepy or anything!) In a couple years the little girls are going to be calling! I can't believe how big your kids are since I first met you!!!
Very bright idea! Yay you!
I have toothbrushes in our downstairs bathroom, too! That way they won't have to complain about going back upstairs to brush their teeth. No more excuses!
