Addiction, anyone?

Hmmm... I knew the pacifier was being overused. But it's SO damn convenient! I'm thinking it's time to start limiting it. Sigh. (of course, this is being typed as she is running around with one in her mouth. But it's the only way I can blog!!!)

My oldest would have one his his mouth, one in each hand, and still know where a couple more were hidden in a toy!!!! I TOTALLY understand.

SlowMo had one until she was almost 4!! That will not happen (I don't think anyway) with theBeast. We're trying to limit the paci to naps, car rides and bedtime. Sometimes she'll find one and we'll let her use it shortly..It is convenient when she's screaming..just pop it in and she's happy!! LOL

All of my kids have been binkie babies... Little Bug had his till had his till he was 4... we tried to have Red take his to the store and trade it for a toy. It worked... till we found out he had 3 other stashed under his bed :S Baby Girl found one the other day and stuck it in her mouth. Hubby went NUTS! She hasn't had a binkie for a year and he didn't want her going back. Threw it away as soon as possible!! Good luck!

Looks so odd to me because Avery never had one. Even though I tried when she was a fussy baby....
But anyway, I am still laughing at her getting into your make-up :)

oh those are cute pictures! Kayla never did take a pacifier...her addiction/comfort thing is her arm. Yes her arm. She sucks on her arm, not a thumb, her arm, to fall asleep. I wonder when she'll ever stop doing that, as obviously we can't take her arm away like you can with a pacifier!

Oh I've been feeling great! Hungry and tired all the time, but otherwise great!

The binky is like crack around here, but we've managed to scale back the hits to night-time. Still, there's usually one in her mouth all night and two in the fist and it's a loooong discussion in the morning abut how they need to stay in bed for the day.

My oldest had one in the mouth and as many as he could hold in each hand!!

Our dentist gave us this tip and it worked for us...
Poke a hole with a needle in the tips of all the pacifiers. Then in a few days cut a bit off the tip. Every few days cut some off of the pacifier until it's all gone.

When we did this, my son was done with his "paci" by the first cut!

Son #2 was the only one who would ever take a pacifier but he gave it up on his own when he was two.
He was, however, partial to sucking on his upper lip to the point of making a "hickey". Your photos look adorable, my kid's photos from the same age look like he had a giant herpes sore.

You might think I'm crazy but I totally swear by it.

My grandaddy always did things by farmer's almanac. When it was time to wean the kids from bottles, he would tell me when after referring to the Good Book, and by golly, it would work!

My son had the most impressive love affair going with his paci. My grandaddy passed away 5 years ago. In desparation, I looked up the farmer's almanac and saw when to wean. I kid you not. I took it on the date it said and never had ONE problem!!! I was in shock.

Those old people keep good secrets like this from us.

p.s. He had the paci for 2 and 1/2 years before I did my Good Book consult. I just knew he was going to end up taking a supply of pacies to college with him. Oh, and the Farmer's Almanac is available online!

Love the sunglass photo. Very cool.

My two kids hated pacifiers. I thank God for that.

Girlie Girl had hers until she was three. Since she was starting preschool I knew I finally had to do something about it. Baby Bug didn't like the pacifier no matter how much I begged her to use it! LOL!

I think one of the pharmaceutical companies make a patch for this type of addiction.
