Um, remember how I said I finally got some weeding done? And how proud of myself I was? Well, I finished spraying and pulling those thistle bushes yesterday evening, even though I was itchy all weekend and uncomfortable. Hmmm. Couldn't figure out WHY, but it was manageable most of the time.
Until last night.
I couldn't fall asleep. I was so uncomfortable and realized that I was practically gouging my legs from scratching so hard! I went into the bathroom and saw a little rash on my calves and figured I had gotten bitten over the weekend. FINALLY fell asleep, only to be awakened in the morning by PAIN.
My thighs, calves and butt (tmi?) were covered in huge, puffy, red hives! Horrendous. DisGUSting. I was freaked! Didn't even walk Justin to school, cuz it hurt so bad to move!
---Wow. That was Monday, and I haven't had a chance to sit down to finish till now! Anyway. The rash went totally away by that evening and reappeared AGAIN that night in bed. Hmmmm... Hoping that it's NOT my bedroom (or husband!) that I'm allergic to.
Anyway. We spent the day in our kiddie pool and sprinkler with a few neighbor kids and Justin's friend from school once they got home. Corinne is pink, despite the slathering of sunscreen I kept applying. She is quite a fish! They also had check ups today (finally. Corinne hasn't had one since... oh, 9 months?) And they're both normal but thin. Nothing I didn't already know. Oh, and Corinne's "really advanced"... as if I had anything to do with that! Seriously, I didn't learn anything I didn't already know, and it felt like such a total waste of money, but I figured it was about time before they called child services for neglecting to get her routine check ups!
Blah blah blah... Just another day. Good stuff. Bubbles with the baby. Evan filled the pool and played with his best friend. Got to chat with my neighbor while the kids played. Overall, a nice, normal day.
Poetry Month in our Homeschool - Sure, you *can *force a kid to read a book. Any book, actually. But you *can't* force a child to love to read. You can't push and push literature on them a...
