Is it wrong for me to giggle with glee when the boys go outside to play? They are so much like me: hating the humid heat, that they've been in WAY more than out this summer. So, when they're outside, I have this wonderful feeling of relief. They can mess up the outside as much as they want. They can be loud and run and swing sticks at evil villains and I don't worry about the windows or the baby's head getting hit in the crossfire.

Nope! It's not wrong for you to feel guilty at all! :)
though i don't want to be out in the heat, i occasionally insist the kids go outside, telling them how important it is to have outside time and get fresh air, etc. :) (we know the main reason is that i need some time to regain my sanity!) and sometimes i lock the back door just to discourage them from coming right back in! once they're out for a bit they usually start entertaining themselves. i love feeding them meals outside so that i have a whole lot less cleaning!
