There is a covert operation in action at my house. Thankfully, my children are completely unaware of anything my husband and I do that doesn't involve them, so the bags of clothing and food that we've been assembling hasn't raised any suspicions. Then again, maybe I should be concerned that they have so little observation skills... I mean, not only is the van cleaned out, but I actually PACKED BAGS yesterday and nobody even blinked an eye.
Obviously, none of them have a future in detective work.
After watching countless surprise vacation videos, Patrick and I decided to try and spring a trip to Wisconsin Dells on our kids. Well, only on Evan and Corinne. Justin does better if he knows what's happening and when, so he actually knows all about the trip, but he's FABULOUS at keeping a secret and, I think, even appreciates being in on the adult side of the surprise.
We only live 3 hours from the Dells, so we've been there numerous times. However, this is our first time at the Mount Olympus Resort and we are SO excited to try it out! It has not only a large indoor and outdoor water park, but also roller coasters, carnival rides and go-karts. And all of the kids are tall enough for most of the slides!
Now I just need to charge up the Flip camera so that I can get their faces on video when we tell them. We're hoping to make it all the way to the Dells before they notice. They think we're doing "errands" today which is why we have so many snacks in a bag... I hope it's a good one!
