I choose to call them "Creative"

"Mommy, I want to make a bow and arrow!"

I snickered behind my hand because there is NO WAY he could make an arrow fly with a bow made out of yarn, a stick and Scotch tape, right?
The joke's on me. Those suckers FLEW! Nobody lost an eye so the whole experiment was successful.

Zoom in.

My kids' sentence structure needs a little work, but the creativity is there...
This is what happens when you leave my kids in the backyard unattended for hours on end. They will devise (with the help of a few friends) a zip line made from yarn and a plastic golf club tube.

A zip line. From YARN. Let that one sink in.

Again, no one was hurt (not even my trees!) and they had a BLAST so I can chalk it up to a GOOD day.

For fun, enlarge the last photo. See the lovely "Christmas decorations" on my trees? Decorations that include wiffle balls, light sabers, and other outdoor toys tied to the trees with yarn?

3 weeks later and it's still up. I think we'll just wait for the real Christmas and pretend it was purposeful.

We had those refrigerator magnets from when Rich and I were first together- except they were the, um, "naughty" set. My poor kids would try to string together a sentence using thrust, heaving, slick and shaft. Oh the sentences.

SUSAN!!! Oh my word.

The words on that magnet board were from the Cleveland zoo and they all relate to poop. Just what my kids love!

Good thing after all of that, everyone is safe. :)

My kids would love those poop-themed magnets. They would go with one of their favourite books - Jurassic Poop.

This entire post cracks me up...from the poop magnets to the yarn zip line! Ha!

My washing machine [magnetic] looks very similar.

Where did you get all of the awesome poop fridge poetry??? LOL.

And I like the Christmas decorations much better than the traditional kind. Your kids are the coolest.

I cannot wait until my kids can be left in the yard unattended, or maybe I can . . . I'm sure they'll come up with some crazy, dangerous stuff in an attempt to mimic Phineas and Ferb.

I have "hiding in elephant feces" stuck in my head now....lets pray I dont say it in my sleep!
I love to see your kids spending so much time outside, using their imaginations and making things. My son is only 1 but I try to get out of the house for a majority of they day. I'm trying to talk my husband into getting a hammock and so we can nap outdoors too! LOL

OH yes... yes, they certainly are creative. I love it! They must be light for yarn to hold them. That's truly impressive.

A yarn line, huh? Sounds entertaining.

They are indeed creative! I kinda want to hang out with them...

Ha! I remember creating crazy stuff like that when I was a kid. In almost every instance, my "creations" were complete failures, but gosh were they fun!

Love the "decorations."

What a great post! Aren't kids amazing? It's crasy what they can come up with, out of thin air! I swear, I wish we could channel all their energy and creativity, we could take over the world!
In response to your post earlier, I felt the exact same way about military life, and in a way I still do- I love to travel, but when it comes to living, I've always been one who needs roots. I was born and raised in the same town my whole life. But I've resolved that if they can at least let us stay in the southern states, I'll be happy! Thanks for your sweet comment! :) Have a great day!

oh my gosh, I can't believe that yarn held up for a zip line! Awesome.

FYI, the yarn did not hold their weight. It wasn't tied tightly enough and just bent so they kind of just... fell. They jumped and pretended to glide when they were just catapulting themselves off of the ladder into the trees and the bench below. I do NOT have yarn with super powers!
